This ultimate afternoon workshop focused on combining some of our favourites: candles and cocktail mixology, brought to the workshop by inspiring local brands: Etikette Candles, and Adelaide Hills Distillery at Lot 100. Guests made their own bespoke scented candles exclusive to our workshop, that encompassed all things Hygge. Led by the team from Lot 100, they were offered some dazzling botanical cocktails to sip on, exploring the 78 Degrees range.

Starting with a Sunset Gin and Tonic with Fevertree aromatic and dried strawberries on arrival, participants learnt the art of candle making by creating two natural soy wax candles.

Georgia and Ella from Ettikette guided the group as they poured candles by hand to keep. Guests were able to talk to the experts about fragrance blending, wax and wick sizes, candle care 101, and the techniques behind melting, mixing, and pouring.

The group took a break with with 78 Degrees Gin from Adelaide Hills Distillery and prepared their own Tom Collins using Better Gin, and their choice of garnishes.

Adelaide Hills Distillery was launched by Sacha La Forgia, a wine maker who travelled the world for over 6 years working wine vintages and exploring the world of distilling.

On his travels throughout Italy he met his mentor, ‘The Italian’, who encouraged him to return to Australia and start his own distillery.

Sacha hand-crafted a copper still, and launched 78˚ Classic Gin in 2015. This product quickly gained a reputation as a high quality, small batch gin, with unique Australian characteristics.

In 2016, Steve Dorman and Toby Kline of The Hills Cider Company joined Sacha, and together they embarked upon the next stage of Adelaide Hills Distillery – expanding the product range and increasing production capabilities.
